Finance
The people numbers and the money finally agree.
Payroll, invoicing, expenses, and budgets read from the same records as HR and time. One headcount change updates the forecast, the pay run, and the cost center in the same moment.
What's included
What the Finance module covers
Enough to run a services business, and it exports cleanly to the ledger you already use.

Payroll
Pay runs built from approved hours, salaries, and adjustments, with variance against the previous period surfaced before you commit.
Invoicing
Client invoices generated from billable time and fixed fees, sent from the platform, with a payment portal and aging report per client.
Expenses
Receipt capture, policy limits enforced at submission, multi-step approval, and reimbursement in the next pay cycle.
Accounts payable
Vendor records, bill entry, approval routing, and a payables aging view so nothing slips past its terms.
Budgets & cost centers
Departmental budgets with actuals posted as they happen, and every hour, expense, and salary tagged to a cost center.
Reporting
Built-in reports plus a custom report builder and scheduled email delivery. Bank feeds and a read-only QuickBooks sync keep the ledger current.
The screens
Finance in the product
Screens from the working product, filled with sample data so you can see the shape of the thing before you talk to us.

Meet Pixi
The assistant that already read your finance data
Pixi answers from your own records and policies, cites what it used, and hands the decision back to you. It drafts and suggests; it never approves, hires, or pays anyone on its own.
Runs on its own
Reminders, escalations, and status changes fire from the same rules, so nothing sits in a queue because a person forgot to look.
Four items are waiting on you, two of them past their target date. I have grouped them by who is blocked and linked each one to the record it came from.
How it runs
From an approved hour to a paid invoice
The month-end close is mostly review, because the data was captured correctly the first time.
- 01
Time and expenses approve during the month
Nothing waits for the last week. Approved items post to the project and cost center immediately.
- 02
Invoices draft themselves
Billable hours and fixed fees roll into a draft per client. You adjust write-offs and narrative, then send.
- 03
Payment arrives and reconciles
The client pays through the portal or by bank transfer. Bank feed matching clears the invoice and updates the aging report.
- 04
Payroll runs off the same hours
Contractors are paid on approved time, salaried staff on their record, with expense reimbursements attached to the run.
- 05
Margin is visible per project
Revenue billed minus labour cost and expenses, per project and per client, without a separate spreadsheet model.
People first
“We stopped chasing spreadsheets and started actually talking to people again.”
Sean Morrison · Founder, HaloHR
- One record
- People, time, and pay share a single source
- Per tenant
- Data and AI retrieval never cross a client line
- Minutes
- Typical time to set up a new client workspace
Built in
Separation of duties as standard
Finance data carries the tightest permissions in the platform, enforced server-side on every request.
- Finance visibility is a distinct permission — roles without it load no finance data on any route, not merely a hidden menu
- Approval thresholds require a second approver above configurable amounts
- Pay rates and salary bands are separately permissioned from general employee records
- Locked accounting periods block retroactive edits once a period is closed
- Full audit trail on every invoice, expense, bill, and pay run

Connected to the rest of the platform
Every module writes to the same database, so a change in one place shows up everywhere else.
